The Commission On Publications

The Commission On Publications, led by an assigned bishop who is responsible for all activities related to the continuous development, editorial, publishing and distribution of the Christian Recorder.

The Publisher

The Publisher of the Christian Recorder manages the African Methodist Episcopal Publishing House. The Publisher receives camera-ready copy from the Editor and provides publishing, printing and mailing of the Christian Recorder to all of its subscribers. .

The Editor

The Editor of the Christian Recorder is the day-to-day manager of the Christian Recorder. The Editor is responsible for all activities regarding content and editing of the Christian Recorder. The Editor also publishes an Online version of the Christian Recorder which covers all of the major meetings of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in addition to breaking news of interest to subscribers, visitors and friends.

Editor of the Christian Recorder is elected by the delegates to the General Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The General conference convenes every four years.

Bishop Kirkland the presiding prelate of the Fifth Episcopal District, African Methodist Episcopal Church is the current Chair of the Commission on Publications of the A.M.E. Church. Bishop Kirkland was assigned by the 49th Quadrennial Session of the General Conference. Bishop Kirkland is the 114th elected and consecrated bishop of the A.M.E. Church.

Publisher Dr. Barbour, as Publisher of the A.M.E. Sunday School is responsible for publishing, printing and distribution of the Christian Recorder. He was re-elected the this position at the 48th Session of the General Conference, African Methodist Episcopal Church.
